The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen, Liz Grande, described the situation in the country as very dangerous, in light of the outbreak of the Coruna virus and the absence of accurate figures.

In a statement to Al Jazeera, Grandi warned that the countdown had started to stop many United Nations programs in Yemen, after the donors' conference failed to collect the required amount, estimated at $ 2.4 billion.

In the context, the International Committee of the Red Cross warned that the crisis of the Corona pandemic would increase the hardships of people living in conflict areas, in light of the reduced response from governments and international financial institutions.

The president of the International Committee of the Red Cross told the island that the Yemeni situation is complicated and that divisions in this country hamper relief efforts.

For his part, Director of the World Health Organization for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Manzari said that Yemen and Libya are two examples of the weak health system due to the wars in them. He added during an interview with Al-Jazeera within the program Without Borders that the health system in Yemen is operating at half its capacity.

The international official also called for the necessity of providing immediate funding in order to prevent the collapse of the Yemeni health system, which is suffering from unprecedented obstacles and difficulties.

An international donor conference sponsored by Saudi Arabia with the participation of the United Nations on Tuesday failed to raise the funding needed to meet Yemen's humanitarian needs in the coming months. While the UAE did not announce any financial contribution, the Houthis considered Riyadh's hosting of the conference an investment in Yemeni blood.

Prior to the new donors' conference, the United Nations warned about the suspension of about 30 of its humanitarian programs in Yemen during the next few weeks, in the event that the required funding is not available to face the crises that this country is going through, including the outbreak of Corona virus and other epidemics, as well as the collapse of the system Health due to the war that has been going on for more than five years.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called on the international community to take immediate action to help the Yemeni people, before the humanitarian situation in the country facing the threat of a comprehensive medical collapse becomes worse.
