  • Unlike Nantes, the games are far from being made in several municipalities of the metropolis.
  • In the department also, it will be necessary to follow closely the situation of certain cities, like La Baule.

The day after the filing of the lists, we can see a little more clearly concerning the second round of the municipal elections in Nantes and in the region. If the City of Dukes will live a triangular without great surprise, with Johanna Rolland as favorite, the situation looks more uncertain in several municipalities of the agglo and the region. A quick overview of the challenges and personalities to follow.

The towns to watch in the agglo

Unlike Nantes, no union between PS and Greens was born in Saint-Herblain . In the second city of the agglomeration, the outgoing mayor Bertrand Affilé, benefiting from a comfortable advance, refused their outstretched hand, judging the "eroded confidence".  In Rezé , an agreement did take place between the outgoing mayor and EELV, but not sure that it was enough for the socialist Gérard Allard to find his seat. The outgoing mayor will face the list on the left Rezé Citoyenne, led by his former assistant Hervé Neau and arriving largely in the lead. She has since received support from the entire Left list, narrowly eliminated. The LREM list, at the bottom of the peloton, will complete this triangular.

Another configuration this time in Bouguenais , where the three lists on the left have merged. An essential maneuver to be able to compete with the LREM candidate Sandra Impériale, who still hopes to tip the town after her good score in the first round. Finally in Orvault , it is completely vague: the three lists (led by two ex-deputies of the outgoing mayor of the center right Joseph Parpaillon and by the elected official Jean-Sébastien Guitton) arrived neck and neck on the evening of the 15th March were all maintained.

In Loire-Atlantique, looking towards Saint-Nazaire or La Baule

A little further in the department, eyes will be turned to Saint-Nazaire , where the two former deputies (left and green) of outgoing mayor David Samzun will this time make a common list, even if the game is not won on the map purely arithmetic. At La Baule , the situation looks more difficult than expected for the Republican Franck Louvrier: arrived in the lead, the former adviser to Nicolas Sarkozy will face an unexpected binomial DVD-LREM, as well as a PS list. In Saint-Brévin , everything is still possible: one of the few quangangular announced (five qualified candidates) will ultimately be played by four.

In the region, towards a re-election of Le Foll and Bourdouleix

Arriving well ahead of the first round (42%), Stéphane Le Foll should be elected mayor of  Le Mans , especially since he has meanwhile merged with environmentalists. Among the other personalities of the region, let us quote Gilles Bourdouleix who should also find his seat in Cholet for the fifth time. Those who had already submitted their list a few days after the first round will face an alliance between unlabeled lists and LREM.
