British Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday called for a "new era of international health cooperation", while hosting a virtual summit to raise funds for the Global Alliance for Vaccines in light of the spread of the emerging Corona virus, especially in Latin America, led by Brazil, which has recorded a new record of Deaths, unlike in Europe, where the borders began to open again.

The online borrowing summit hosted by Johnson aims to raise $ 7.4 billion for vaccine programs that were suspended due to the Coruna epidemic, during which a new fund-raising initiative was launched to support the arrival of vaccines for Covid-19.

"I hope this summit will be the right time when the world will gather to unite humanity in the battle against disease," Johnson said in his speech.

"I invite you to join us to strengthen this alliance that saves lives and launches a new era of international cooperation in the health sector," added Johnson, whose country is the second most affected country in the world with about 40,000 deaths.

During the summit, which brings together more than 50 countries and more than 35 heads of state and government, the coalition hopes to raise $ 7.4 billion to continue global vaccination campaigns against measles, polio and typhoid, which have been greatly affected by the spread of the "Covid-19" epidemic.

The Secretary General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, considered at the International Fundraising Summit that any future vaccine against the emerging corona virus should be a "global public good" available to all.

"The vaccine against (Covid-19) should be a global public good, a vaccine for the people," Guterres said, noting that a number of countries' leaders have issued an invitation in this direction.

For his part, the Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, announced that Saudi Arabia has allocated $ 150 million to the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization, as a support to international efforts to combat the emerging corona pandemic.

The Saudi Foreign Minister emphasized that preserving human health comes at the forefront of the concerns of the Saudi government.

On the eve of the summit, Australian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maris Bean, said her country would pledge A $ 300 million ($ 207 million) to provide vaccines for children in the Indian and Pacific Oceans.

The coalition will provide $ 200 million to continue immunization programs.

For its part, the Netherlands announced the easing of the travel warning to several European countries as of June 15th as well.

And in Moscow, the Russian health authorities announced yesterday that 169 new deaths were recorded by "Corona" during the last 24 hours, which brought the total number of deaths from "Corona" in the country to 5348.
