In Bordeaux, many bars and restaurants have registered on the “J'aime mon bistrot” platform. - UGO AMEZ / SIPA

  • Since the start of confinement, the “J'aime mon bistrot” platform has enabled customers to pre-order coffee, wine, beer, cocktail or even a meal online, for an amount of 1.50 to 50 euros.
  • These pre-orders in the form of vouchers help support the cash flow of owners of cafes and restaurants that have suffered since mid-March.
  • In New Aquitaine, 538 restaurants and bars joined the platform for a total of 1,855 orders. Faced with success, the platform has chosen to continue its action and encourage holidaymakers to anticipate their aperitifs / restaurants to taste them once they arrive at their preferred destination.

More than 26,000 pre-orders, 7,634 establishments registered and almost 1.6 million euros collected. Launched a few days after March 15 by a collective of more than 80 professionals from the out-of-home consumption sector (National Beverage Federation, Pernaud Ricard, Lavazza, etc.), the J'aime mon bistrot platform was a great success for such point that the partners extend the initiative. “Only until December, says 20 Minutes  Thierry Caloin, CHD sales manager at Kronenbourg. Because competition will soon resume its rights between the 80 partners but above all because we have chosen to continue support during the summer season. This reopening of June 2 does not mean that the economic crisis is over. "

Not wrong, since some bars or restaurants in lack of cash have still not reopened and those who have lifted their iron curtain have to deal with physical distancing and a reduced capacity. I like my bistro should allow consumers to continue to give a boost to their favorite food or restaurants damaged by the Covid-19 epidemic. And vacationers to anticipate their aperitifs / restaurants to taste them once they arrive at their favorite destination.

"Put a face on the names of the first supporters"

How it works ? In two parts. On the one hand, the platform centralizes all the information content necessary for establishments in times of crisis (legal support, health advice, etc.) and, on the other hand, it allows customers to inflate the solidarity fund by anticipating their consumption for an amount ranging from 1.50 to 50 euros. “We should not limit the initiative to the financial side but look at all the expressions of sympathy that accompanied the pre-orders. They gave some restaurateurs reasons to hold on. They knew they were expected, ”notes Thierry Caloin, who congratulates himself on having created a real label.

Morann Désert-Lacay and Gary Hough are the directors of Dog and Duck, in Bordeaux. - Marion Pignot

In Bordeaux, it is "these touching messages" that Morann Désert-Lacay, head of Dog and Duck, retains. With his companion Gary Hough, they reopened their pub this Tuesday evening and were happy to "put a face on the names of the first supporters". “We thought that if the confinement lasted two months longer, six years of work would go up in smoke. These little words were good for morale. We knew that customers would be there at the exit of the tunnel, ”confirms the independent who has still not seen the color of the aid promised by the executive.

Over 50 orders for an amount of 1,500 euros

Morann speaks of "links kept with the client" and winks at those who, this Wednesday afternoon, come to say hello or claim their due by handing out their voucher. She also details this “binding Covid-19 protocol” but joins the barrier gestures to the word to serve masked her first pints to the faithful who thirsted to live again at her counter. "It's hard to ask people to lend a hand, and then I figured it wasn't an online pot either." They were just giving us an advance, ”said the 27-year-old who received more than 50 orders for 1,500 euros.

A nice sum knowing that, on the platform, the average basket is close to 40 euros. It is 41 euros in New Aquitaine, where 620 restaurants, cafes and bars are registered (205 in Gironde), where 1,579 orders were placed (717 in Gironde) for an amount of almost 97,240 euros (41,300 euros in Gironde) .
