Trump was asked if he would send an army to American cities where protests are taking place over the death of African-American George Floyd.
“It will depend on the circumstances. I don’t think we will have to do this, ”the US president replied.
He noted that the National Guard was already involved for this.
Earlier it was reported that Trump is preparing to send army units to suppress riots in the United States.
The head of the Pentagon, Mark Esper, later opposed the use of the US military to suppress riots in the country.
