This was announced by the Speaker of the Sejm (lower house of parliament) Elzbieta Witek, reports RMF24.

According to the Polish constitution, the Speaker of the Sejm sets a date for the presidential election.

Earlier, the elections were scheduled for May 10, but in the context of the coronavirus pandemic, they were not held.

The term of office of incumbent President Andrzej Duda expires on August 6.

Earlier it was reported that the Polish authorities consider June 28 the deadline for holding the presidential election, which had previously been postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
