US President Donald Trump has seen no side effects during the two-week treatment of hydroxychloroquine he decided to take as a preventative against the coronavirus, the White House doctor announced on Wednesday.
"The President has completed this treatment safely and without side effects," said Dr. Sean Conley in a statement on the President's medical condition.
"It continues to undergo regular Covid-19 tests and to date all results have been negative," he added.
Used for a long time against malaria, hydroxychloroquine, whose effectiveness against Covid-19 has never been rigorously demonstrated, unleashes passions.
For several months, Donald Trump has been enthusiastic about its possible effects. "I think it could be a game-changer," he said in March. "Or maybe not," he added, however.
In his brief summary, Dr. Conley said that Donald Trump, 73, is 1.90m tall, weighs 110kg, and has a heart rate of 63 beats per minute.
"The data indicates that the president remains in good health," he concluded, adding that all of his vaccines are up to date.
