Covid-19 has caused 81 new deaths in 24 hours in French hospitals, bringing the total death toll to 29,021 since the start of the coronavirus epidemic, according to the balance sheet released Wednesday, June 3, by the Directorate General of health.

This assessment does not include deaths in social and medico-social establishments in the past 24 hours. At the same time, the number of intensive care patients continues to drop.

Four regions (Île-de-France, Grand-Est, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France) account for 74% of patients hospitalized in intensive care.

The number of patients hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection continues to drop, falling within 24 hours from 14,028 to 13,514.

The number of contamination cases stands at 151,677, or 352 new cases registered in 24 hours, specifies Public Health France on its website.

Since the start of the epidemic, 102,133 people have been hospitalized, including 18,019 in intensive care, while 69,455 people have returned home.
