- The contract and the contract are complete. Work will commence as soon as possible. Before the month is over, it should be clear, says environmental inspector David Aronsson to SVT News Sörmland.

Do you think it has taken too long?

- It has taken longer than we thought and it is a shame that we have to do it. But it is good that something happens and if Urecycle fetches it we have come a long way.

The cleaning work on site does not end with the bags. The hazardous battery waste has also been buried in the ground.

- This is the start of the cleanup. The whole site will be cleaned up and it will also take some time, says David Aronsson.

Four men were sentenced to prison

It was at the end of last year that the circumstances surrounding the suspected battery scandal became known. Environmentally hazardous battery mass had then been dumped in Eskilstuna, Örebro and Kumla. At an industrial site in Eskilstuna, 500 tonnes of environmentally hazardous battery packs are in large, white sacks and the company that has without permission stored the sacks has gone bankrupt.

Recently, the district court's ruling in which four men in their 50s were sentenced to prison for serious environmental crime.
