Emmanuel Macron's confidence rating is stable (40%) while that of Edouard Philippe continues to soar (53%, +7 in a month), far ahead of that of the Head of State, according to a survey Ifop-Fiducial published Tuesday.

With 40% of French respondents who approve of his action, Emmanuel Macron retains its low water level from the previous month, in a context of health crisis, according to this monthly survey for Paris Match and Sud Radio.

Highly visible in the management of deconfinement, the Prime Minister records a strong gain and widens the gap with the Head of State, confirming the trend noted in several opinion polls in recent weeks.

With 53% of positive judgments on his action, Édouard Philippe has progressed since the start of the crisis and has gained 17 points over three months. Negative opinions against him are this time in the minority (47%).

It finds an unequaled level in this barometer since January 2018.

A majority of respondents (58%) consider that the Prime Minister "directs the action of the government well", a gain of 16 points in three months. A majority also (54%) also describe him as a "man of dialogue".

Coming from the right, Mr. Philippe manages to capture part of this electorate: 66% of right-wing supporters approve of his action, including 72% among Les Républicains. It is as much acclaimed by the voters of François Fillon in the presidential election of 2017 (75%) as by those of Emmanuel Macron (76%).

Survey carried out online from May 28 to 29 among 1,005 people aged 18 and over, using the quota method. Margin of error from 1.4 to 3.1 points.
