The Ministry of Public Accounts announced Tuesday that companies in difficulty could benefit from a deferral of payment of social security contributions for the month of June, but on request this time, while this device is very much in demand since its implementation in March .

Since March 15, companies in difficulty have the possibility of postponing the date of payment of their social contributions by three months, without penalty. These carryovers amount to "23 billion euros, which represents a massive volume of support for the treasury of businesses and the self-employed," said the Ministry of Public Accounts in a press release.

For the month of June, "the companies of the general system and the agricultural system which need to resort to this device again will have to make a request before the due date for payment", indicates the ministry. This request will have to be "motivated", he specifies.

For large companies, obtaining a deferral of social security contributions remains subject to their commitment not to pay dividends or to buy back shares by the end of the year. The government also requires that the company "not have its headquarters or one of its subsidiaries in a non-cooperative state or territory in tax matters".

Micro-entrepreneurs will also be able to adjust their June 30 payment.

For their part, the monthly self-employed workers will have their June direct debits automatically postponed.

The ministry also indicates that "the modalities of payment of the contributions and deferred contributions and remaining due (...) will be specified within the framework of the next bill of finance amending", which must be presented in council of the minister on June 10.
