The director of the Public Health Pest Control Projects Department at the Abu Dhabi Center for Waste Management "Tadweer", Engineer Mohamed Mahmoud Al Marzouqi, revealed the results of comprehensive surveys to explore the affected sites in the construction sites of residential villas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra, where approximately 559 sites were explored, including 216 infected sites, while rodent infections were in 102 locations, mosquitoes in 122 sites, flies in 99 sites, while the proportion of infected construction sites was approximately 39%, mosquito injuries came to 22%, rodents by 18%, and flies by 17%.


The rate of mosquito infection in Abu Dhabi city reached approximately 43%, rodents 34%, and flies 32%, while the proportion of mosquitoes in Al Ain was 34%, rodents 10%, and flies 11%, while mosquito injuries in Al Dhafra City were about 16 %, Rodents 7%, and flies 5%.


"Tawadir" revealed the exploration of approximately 50 construction sites in Abu Dhabi Island - East, of which 32 sites have mosquito pests by 28%, rodents by 10% and flies by 24%, where the percentage of total infected construction sites in that region reached approximately 62%, While 37 sites were explored in Abu Dhabi Island-West, of which 26 sites were infected with mosquito pests by 58%, flies 10% and rodents 43%, with a total of 70.27%.


The survey and control operations included 50 construction sites in Abu Dhabi city - the mainland, including 9 sites infected with mosquitoes, flies and rodents, with a general total rate of 14%, while results of exploration of construction sites on Yas Island and Al Raha Beach villas indicated that there were injuries in 52 surveyed sites The total percentage reached about 95%, and the detailed ratios were as follows: mosquitoes 98.07%, flies 86.53%, rodents 90.38%.

"Rotate" warned of the potential pest infestation sites in the construction sites, stressing the need to deal with them seriously and control them to prevent any occurrences of mosquito pests, flies and rodents, particularly from non-well covered sewage tanks, uncovered water tanks, water bodies resulting from Water leakage from water and sewage pipes, untreated water bodies, food waste residues inside containers or bags that are not collected on a daily basis, food waste collections on the ground, and construction waste collections on the ground without separating, arranging, or placing them on shelves, in addition to tires Neglected and scrap, and stores are arranged without shelves, and stray animals such as cats and dogs, and others.
