Anne Hidalgo answered Frédéric Taddeï's questions on Sunday in the program "En balade avec". The outgoing mayor of Paris notably mentioned the place of women in politics, and the fact that, according to her, "their skills are more often called into question".

INTERVIEW

For women, politics is often a road full of pitfalls. Anne Hidalgo spoke on Sunday, in the program En balade avec on Europe 1, the difficulties of existing in a world still very masculine, and, very often, harsh. "Often women apologize for existing when they are in the spheres of power," said the mayor of Paris.

"Often they think they will be challenged, which is often the case, because their skills are more often questioned and questioned," lamented the PS candidate, who came first in the first round of the municipal elections and widely favored by the second, next June 28.

"Women do not have many figures to be inspired"

Anne Hidalgo, running for a second term, also advised women who could be elected to head a big city. "Be yourself: in any case, you have to try as much as possible. There are lots of constraints and elements to integrate into these decisions. But you have to trust yourself," launched the councilor.

"It is not simple, because women do not have many figures to be inspired. We have some, like Simone Veil, of course, but we have to make ourselves. We have to that they (women in politics) trust each other and that they are strong and human, "further recommended the mayor of Paris.
