May 30, 2020 A few hundred people gathered this morning in Piazza Duomo in Milan for a demonstration of the 'orange vests', a protest movement which calls, among other things, for a return to the "Italian lira" and a "government voted by the people ".

During the event, the majority of participants did not respect the safety distances for the Covid emergency and some gatherings also took place around the representatives of the movement.

The mayor Sala: irresponsible
"I asked the Prefect to denounce the organizers of the so-called 'orange waistcoat' event. An act of irresponsibility in a city like Milan that is so painstakingly trying to get out of the difficult situation in which it finds itself." This was stated in a Facebook post by the mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, commenting on what happened in the morning, when a hundred people gathered in Piazza Duomo asking for a return to the lira.

Similar demonstrations also took place in other Italian cities. The majority of the demonstrators did not respect the safety distances prescribed for the coronavirus emergency and several also had their masks lowered, hence Sala's grievances.
