The Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC), the majority association with representation on the Council of the Armed Institute, yesterday questioned the renewal announced by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, referring to the court case for alleged workplace harassment that is open the new number three of the Corps, General Félix Blázquez, proposed to the Operations Command after the departure of Fernando Santafé and the change in the Deputy Operative Directorate (DAO), from which Laurentino Ceña resigned.

AUGC recalls that Blázquez, after his time in the Basque Country, is undergoing a military criminal proceeding derived from a complaint for an alleged case against moral integrity and administrative prevarication against an agent stationed in Llodio's Alava post, and that he was defended by the legal services of AUGC, reports Europa Press. "This appointment is incomprehensible, since it is carried out in particularly convulsive circumstances within the Civil Guard after the decisions taken over the last few days by the Government in its objective of carrying out a process of renewal", supports this association in its brief.

In contrast, sources from the Civil Guard informed Efe that Blázquez had no direct relationship with an agent from Llodio's Alava post who filed a complaint for an alleged case of workplace harassment in 2015 after being issued three times. Blázquez, they point out, is part of the chain of command that has been called to declare for these events before the Central Military Court No. 1 of Madrid because it is the general of the Zone and is the person who is responsible for signing the disciplinary files, for which explained that to "guarantee their rights" will attend accompanied by a lawyer.
