The hearing took place at the city of the African Union, on the heights of Mont-Ngaliema. The number 1 of the DRC said it appreciated the approach initiated by its counterpart from Congo-Brazzaville, who is currently the head of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region. Denis Sassou-Nguesso plans, in the next few days, a quadripartite in which Zambia and the DRC will have to participate, countries recently opposed by a border dispute.

The Zimbabwean Emmerson Mnangagwa will also be invited to this meeting on behalf of Sadec. And it is in this context that the number one of Brazzavillian diplomacy is expected this Friday in Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe. On Wednesday, he was in Lusaka where he met the Zambian president, Edgar Lungu. The latter would not be opposed to the approach of President Sassou-Nguesso.

Since mid-March, incidents have been regularly reported on the border between the DRC and Zambia. Kinshasa accuses its neighbor of coveting its territory and of having repeatedly made incursions into Congolese territory.
