A private school has informed its students that the end-of-year exams, for grades five to eight, will be optional, and the student has the right to choose one or two subjects or more to perform the final exam in them, as well as canceling exams for grades one to four.

Parents of students considered that the end-of-year tests are necessary to measure the level of their children's educational achievement as a result of applying the distance education system, while others stressed that there is no benefit in conducting final tests for students in the transport classes, considering that their results will not be a true measure of the students' levels.

In detail, private schools belonging to a series of famous schools nationwide decided that the end-of-year exams will be optional for students in grades five to eight, according to a circular issued and distributed to the students of their students, finally, and the tests will be comprehensive for the decisions of the first and second semesters, and in the basic subjects that include : English, mathematics, and the Arabic language, explaining that the exams are optional and students can decide not to take them, or choose one or two subjects or more to take an exam in it, and if the student decides to take any of the exams, the result of the exam will have weight in the final rate.

In the circular, the school called on the students ’families to notify them of the subjects that their children chose to perform the tests in, before the 14th of next June, and the last day for reviewing the subjects will be the 16th of the same month. They choose to take part in the exams five days after they finish.

The circular clarified that the exam period is one hour, and includes basic questions for each subject, and the answers will be corrected electronically, pointing out that each exam is divided into two parts: the first is 45 minutes, and it covers lessons from the first and second semesters and its score from 100, and the second duration is 15 minutes, and covers the lessons that The student learned it in the third semester remotely, with a mark of 20 degrees.

The school stated that students from grades one to four will not have exams, and their results will depend on what they achieved in the first and second semesters, and their participation and seriousness in remote study during the third semester, including following up on attending classes and performing and submitting assignments, provided that the last day of the study is 25 of This coming June, while the results of the kindergarten students will depend on what they achieved in the first and second semesters, and the last day will be next June 25.

For their part, students with students in private schools that adopt foreign curricula: Hala Hossam, Othman Ibrahim, and Abeer Abdullah, demanded that schools conduct final exams for all students from first grade to twelfth grade, especially in basic subjects, including Arabic, English, mathematics and studies Social, science, chemistry, physics, biology, and others.

They explained that these tests determine the effectiveness of the distance education system, and assess the extent to which students benefit from it, adding that “students if they are not subjected to final tests that evaluate their performance, they may suffer underestimating education through this system, because they are sure that there are no tests that determine their levels and show individual differences. Among them, they show weaknesses and strengths in their academic performance.
