A motorist was ready to do anything to escape the police on the night of Saturday to Sunday. According to Le Dauphiné Libér é, the man first refused to submit to a check by the Lyon anti-crime brigade, around 4 a.m. Alerted by their colleagues, the police from the Vienna police station (Isère) were thus waiting for the fugitive, who had launched himself on the A7 motorway.
Once at Vienna, and at the sight of a police vehicle, the man abandoned his car, as well as the passenger he was transporting, to run and throw himself into the Rhône. In the icy waters of the river, he had to be rescued by the fire brigade. Brought back to the bank in a state of hypothermia, the man, whose life prognosis is not engaged, was taken to the Vienna hospital and then transferred to the Lyon hospital center.
