Louis Aliot, RN deputy and candidate for mayor of Perpignan, is in favor of holding the second round of municipal elections next June 28. "I do not see why the French would not go to vote," he said on Friday evening on Europe 1.

INTERVIEW

Louis Aliot is adamant about the holding of the second round of municipal elections on June 28, announced by the government on Friday. "I do not see what we would risk June 28 in polling stations, spending 20 minutes to vote, than spending an hour in queues in supermarkets or even on the beaches," said the RN deputy and candidate for mayor of Perpignan, Friday evening on Europe 1.

"There is no reason why the French should not move. I am lucky to be a green department, people are starting to go out. I do not see why they should not go to vote when it "is an important moment which will lead to the management of the next six years, or else there is no democracy", continued Louis Aliot, who won the first round in Perpignan with 35% of the vote.

"We will make sure that there is as little abstention as possible"

But how can we guarantee an electoral campaign, without the possibility of organizing massive rallies during this pandemic period? "Democracy has to live. There will be abstention, we will make sure there is as little as possible. There are social networks, leaflets in mailboxes, then the telephone simply "said Louis Aliot.

"The electoral campaign for the second round would have lasted only four days, so we must stop talking about the campaign. We could judge the balance of mayors and suggest solutions for the next term," said candidate RN to Perpignan, in a good position to take the town hall from the Republican Jean-Marc Pujol.
