In 2020, the City Council will decide whether the airport will live on.
According to an evaluation carried out on behalf of the municipality, the airport contributes to around 1900 jobs. According to Lovisa Aldrin (L), 1st Deputy Chairman of the Municipal Board's Committee on Growth and Sustainable Development, the airport also fulfills a major social function.
- Thanks to the airport's presence, we can assist in important community-based efforts such as ambulance flights and fire aviation, and the airport is also a guarantee that the defense stays in Halmstad, a large and important employer and a direct link to the state, says Lovisa Aldrin (L) release.
