He expressed this proposal during a speech at a meeting of the Security Council, convened at the initiative of Russia in connection with a statement by the Venezuelan authorities about the entry of a group of mercenaries into the country from Colombia.
“We urge all participants in today's discussion to unequivocally condemn the attempt to invade the sovereign territory of Venezuela,” Polyansky quotes TASS.
According to him, Russia has prepared a draft corresponding statement of the UN Security Council.
On May 3, the Venezuelan Ministry of Defense reported that a "group of mercenary terrorists organized and trained in Colombia" tried to get on the territory of the country by boat. Colombia later denied any involvement in the incident.
