Madelene works as a Home Nursing Assistant: "We should have been a bigger priority"

In many homes around the country, the coronas center has moved in, but in the home service where Madelene Simonsen works no one has fallen ill. The vulnerable situation of the elderly and the staff caring for them were justified too late during the corona pandemic.

- I wish we had received attention and support from the start, says Madelene Simonsen.

SVT Västmanland has spoken to Social Minister Lena Hallengren (S) who expresses an understanding of that feeling, but thinks that there has certainly been a focus on elderly care.

- I understand that you can feel that not enough attention has been paid, but I think a great deal of work has been done, says the Minister of Social Affairs.
