  Guan Zhongqi, deputy consul general of the Chinese consulate general in Lagos, told the media that the consulate general contacted the Nigerian navy as soon as the Chinese fishing vessel was hijacked by pirates. The Nigerian side immediately dispatched a patrol boat, successfully intercepted the robbed fishing boat, rescued the crew and captured several pirates. Under the escort of the Nepalese navy, the fishing boat arrived at the port of Lagos on the 18th, and all 18 crew members were well.

  A Nigerian Navy spokesperson confirmed to the media on the 18th that the pirates attacked and hijacked the Chinese fishing boat in the waters near Côte d’ Ivoire on the 15th, and then controlled the fishing boat to sail to the Nigerian waters. The Nepalese Navy intercepted the hijacked fishing boat in the waters 140 nautical miles south of Lagos, rescued the crew and captured 10 pirates.
