His body was spotted 13 meters deep. A young man in his twenties died on Saturday morning during a snorkeling excursion in the sector of the Embiez islands, in the Var, learned 20 Minutes from the maritime prefecture of the Mediterranean. The Mediterranean Regional Operational Center for Surveillance and Rescue (CROSS) was alerted by his guide on Saturday around 10 a.m. of the young diver's disappearance.
SNSM swimmers then training in Bandol Bay managed to locate the body at the end of the morning. SDIS 83 divers were able to identify the victim, whose body was brought to the surface at around 1 p.m. after an investigation by the judicial police. The weather conditions were however favorable.
