This was reported to TASS in the press service of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in response to a request from the agency.

“This year, the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s supervisory authorities conducted about 1,000 inspections of the fire condition of nursing homes for the elderly and disabled, gerontological and gerontopsychiatric centers ... during which 165 institutions with violations of fire safety requirements were identified,” the department said.

It is clarified that among the most common violations are cluttered escape routes, the absence or malfunction of some fire protection systems.

Earlier it was reported that the Russian Emergencies Ministry, due to an epidemic of coronavirus infection, reduced by 70% the number of scheduled fire safety inspections of small and medium-sized businesses.
