On Thursday, the municipality of Umeå received a press release confirming that two users at a residence in Umeå tested positive for the new corona virus.
In order to reduce the spread of infection, all staff on two of the four floors must now be tested.
- This is warmly welcomed because it is an effective way to reduce the risk that people who carry the infection but who have no symptoms continue to infect people in its vicinity, says Pernilla Henriksson, Elderly Care Director, Umeå Municipality.
The municipality writes that as more will be tried, it may mean that more cases will emerge.
- We are prepared to recruit more employees if it turns out that employees at Dragon's care and care accommodation carry the infection and thus need to be sickened. We are also prepared, based on our routines and action plans, to manage a larger number of infected users through isolation and specially assigned personnel who work exclusively with the infected, says Malin Sundbom.
