The share price of Guizhou Maotai, a mainstream company that makes Maotai, the representative liquor of China, continued to rise and the market capitalization exceeded that of Samsung Electronics, a global technology company.

According to the financial investment industry on the 13th, the share price of Guizhou Maotai, which was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, rose to 1,323.01 yuan, the highest level on the previous day, with a market capitalization of 1.67 trillion yuan (about 289 trillion won).

The market cap of Samsung Electronics on the previous day was 286 trillion won.

Guizhou Maotai, the No. 1 market leader in China's stock market, has surged more than 20% in March due to anticipation of domestic demand recovery since March, when the blockade from Corona 19 was fully resolved.

Produced in Guizhou Province in southwestern China, Maotai is China's leading high-quality sake, which is highly popular among Chinese consumers.

From brewing to maturation, Maotai manufacturing takes from a few years to a few decades or more, so the price of commodities continues to skyrocket because it cannot keep up with high demand.

Shortly after 2012, when President Xi Jinping came to power, a strong anti-corruption movement unfolded and Maotai was recognized as a synonym for luxury and pleasure, and it once took a momentous break in the growth of Guizhou Maotai.

At the time, there were reports that more than 10,000 bottles of Mao Thai were found in the home of the former head of the deputy head of the People's Liberation Army, Gu Jun-san, who was punished for corruption.

However, as the domestic market continued to grow as the Chinese economy grew, Maotai's popularity quickly recovered again, and in 2017, it surpassed Diageo with the Johnnie Walker brand and became the world's leading liquor company.

In addition, last year, as stock prices almost doubled, they surpassed Gongsang Bank, the world's No. 1 bank, and became the No. 1 company in China.

Mao Tai, the governor of the city, often appeared on the diplomatic stage, and solidified the image of 'Kukju'.

In March 2018, when North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited North Korea, a rare Maotai, known for over 200 million won per bottle, appeared at the dinner table at the top of the two countries.

At that time, Mr. Si also presented several special bottles of rare Maotai produced before 1980 to Chairman Kim.

At the dinner table in Singapore in May 2018, when President Xi and Ma Ying-ju first met each other after dividing the binocular, the tables of Chinese and Taiwanese Maotai and Jinmen gourds, respectively, rose on the dinner table.
