Electronic fraudsters targeted a well-known investment company, by launching a website in its name and logo, in addition to accounts on social networks, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat, in order to lure the victims and entice them to invest in them and then steal their money, but rather they used social media celebrities to promote their accounts and their fake site.

And the Gulf Islamic Investment Company warned its clients against being deceived and phishing through the fake site, and the fabricated accounts on social networks, pointing out that it has a single official website on the Internet.

A spokeswoman for the company told Emirates Today that these fraudulent practices began about 10 days ago, when the company was surprised by inquiries from its customers about a different website and advertisements via social networks, one of which was through one of the famous media celebrities that displayed an advertisement for the company without their permission Or a previous link.

The company confirmed that it had no connection to the fraudulent website, to appeal to public sector departments not to communicate or visit this site and to refrain from providing any personal data through it in order to preserve that data.

She pointed out that the company has official accounts known on social networks, stressing that it has no relationship from near or far to fabricated accounts established by fraudsters themselves, using information, pictures and the company logo without permission from them, but promoted it through famous media celebrities that were not contracted by Gulf Investment Islamic.

The company stated in a statement obtained by "Emirates Today" that it had informed the Dubai police and the Securities and Commodities Authority in the United Arab Emirates about the fraudulent site and the electronic attacks mentioned above, indicating that it will take all necessary legal measures appropriate to protect its reputation and the interests of investors and the general public alike.

For his part, a security source said that the incident is being verified, and accordingly measures will be taken, including withholding fabricated accounts on communication networks.

As Emirates Today browsed the fabricated site of the Gulf Islamic Investment Corporation, it was very perfect as its founders transmitted some data related to the original company, and used its logo and brand name, and put a link to obtain the data of the fake site pioneers, for later use in their goals, and it is striking that the fake site In Arabic, when the user clicks on the link to convert to English, he will go to the original website of the victim.
