May 11, 2020 "Reassess the situation of the Municipalities before the imminent approval of the decree": if "our weighted and motivated requests are not accepted, our cities will seriously risk default and the objective impossibility of pushing the country system into recovery economic and tourist ".

The mayors Gnassi (Rimini), Brugnaro (Venice), De Magistris (Naples), Nardella (Florence), Orlando (Palermo), Raggi (Rome), Sala (Milan), the first city citizens with a strong vocation, write to Prime Minister Conte tourist, after reading the draft of the Dl Raise.

In the letter, also addressed to ministers Dario Franceschini and Roberto Gualtieri, the seven mayors of Rimini (also representative of Anci turismo), Venice, Naples, Florence, Palermo, Rome and Milan, note that after reading today the draft of the 'Raising Dl' , "unfortunately we note that the requests made by our councilors for tourism regarding support for the sector, and in particular those in favor of Municipalities with a higher tourist vocation which more than others are now in a state of financial and social crisis, were not accepted. "

"The territories we administer - they continue - have so far based their economic fabric and their budgets on the revenues deriving from tourism, with employment-related levels
to this sector also equal to 20-25% of the total. The application of this decree, where approved in its current version, will therefore lead not only to the loss of thousands of businesses and jobs with an unprecedented social crisis, which we mayors will find ourselves facing, but also to a decrease in services essentials that we will no longer be able to guarantee to citizens and businesses ".

Among the examples it is noted that in the drafts circulating on the DL in question," no reference is made, contrary to what is required, to the reimbursement of the tourist tax, in an
additional fund compared to that of the 3 billion agreed with Anci. Failure to collect these taxes will result in the blocking of many essential services, and the impossibility of
meeting the requests of companies that request a suspension of local taxes at least for the period of closure of the activities ". Moreover, they add," they are the
Municipalities with a very high tourist vocation which will continue to contribute more than proportionally to state finance through the mechanism of the
municipal Solidarity Fund , and which will continue to pay the most significant part of the IMU revenue to the State ".

" Based on these premises - they conclude -, we therefore ask you to be able to reassess before the imminent approval of the decree, the situation of the Municipalities that we represent in order to be able to stay close to the businesses and citizens of our territories, offering them the facilities and services that our budgets today they are no longer able to deliver. "" We are confident that the government cannot remain deaf to gives a cry of alarm of this magnitude ".
