Agents of the Local Police of Seville have denounced the Jota bar on Luis Montoto street for various breaches, on this first day of phase one of the plan to gradually lift the restrictions of the state of alarm decreed against the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic , which allows hospitality businesses to operate through their verandahs and with them at 50% of their maximum capacity, also mediating two meters of separation between each vellor.

On the outskirts of the establishment, according to the Local Police, there were between 20 and 30 people consuming alcoholic beverages on high tables and some shelves to place the glasses. Safety distance was not respected among people and some lacked even respiratory protection.

The person who runs the establishment did not have any type of separation from clients, such as partitions or the like, nor did he wear respiratory protection or gloves. In addition, having three authorized nightstands, he had brought out four high tables and two by the wall.

Another infraction of the establishment was the lack of a waiter to serve at the tables and disinfect each of them between client and client. The agents have warned the manager of the establishment that, in case of repeating these breaches, it could lead to the closure and seal of the activity.

"We cannot throw to the ground the effort of so many people staying at home, the toilets who continue to fight and above all, so many people who have lost their lives due to the pandemic, and who commit this type of irresponsibility without any modesty ", has stated the councilor of the Interior, Juan Carlos Cabrera, stating that he has ordered the Local Police to exercise extreme vigilance to prevent these situations.

On the other hand, "before the false information that is running through social networks" the owners of Bar Jota have given their version of what happened on their Facebook page. "Once opened and surprised by the avalanche of clients and after the visit of the local police, they have kindly suggested some changes such as keeping more distance between the clients," they defended.

Bar Jota assures that "due to the impossibility of maintaining the security of our clients" they have decided to close while executing said measures. "This is a new situation for everyone and it is a matter of 'trial and error'."
