May 07, 2020 The Knesset has voted in favor of the coalition agreement between Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and his former opponent Benny Gantz for a national emergency government, taking a further step towards resolving the political crisis.

The approval came after the Supreme Court last night did not accept the petitions that had been filed against the agreement and against the possibility that an indicted deputy, such as Netanyahu, could become prime minister under the government agreement with Gantz.

By the end of the evening, the Knesset is likely to point to Netanyahu as a deputy who has a majority of votes to form the new government that is expected to swear on May 13. If so it will end the political limbo of Israel which cost 3 elections.
