“Tomorrow we begin the withdrawal of the RHB defense units from Italy,” TASS quoted him as saying.
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia Valery Gerasimov was instructed to organize a solemn meeting of the combined detachments.
“Present me with proposals to encourage distinguished military personnel, doctors and all those who were involved in disinfection in cities and facilities in Italy,” added Shoigu.
Earlier, the head of the Bergamo Field Hospital, Oliviero Volotti, praised the work and professional skills of Russian military doctors who were sent to Italy as part of their assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection.
