• File. All the interviews of the 'against' of EL MUNDO

Madrid, 2000. Not everything in 'Élite' is post-adolescent lubricity, but if the Spanish series has become the great sexual revolution of these times, it is largely due to the very young actress Ester Expósito , who advises how to cope with the 'itching' and loneliness during confinement by the coronavirus.

How does Ester, the girl, get along with Ester, the star? And with 'La Marquesita', the character? Well, Ester, the girl, is very hard on Ester, the actress, and sometimes one prevents the other from enjoying and not caring. But it is a fight in which I work to try to reach a balance between the two and not generate more tension and anxiety than just. Ester loves Carla and vice versa: she is a character with whom I have identified and turned for several years. This has made him have an infinite affection also for how much I have enjoyed giving it life and unraveling it. Do you need to have a cool tennis head to cope with success? In this profession, and I imagine that in others, if you do not have your head prepared and trained, success can play very bad tricks on you. I do not lose sight of what is really important to me and what really was always my goal, and that helps me to relativize both success and failure and deal with the change my life has experienced. How do you feel knowing that Are you 'accompanying' many reclusive people? It is a wonderful time for people to enjoy watching movies and series. I'm doing it too, so it's nice to see how people in these moments need and value culture and entertainment. And how are you managing confinement? Well, with enough anxiety and ups and downs. It had been two years with a frenetic rhythm and to have stopped like this, in dry, is an emotional disorder and deprives me of being doing what I am most passionate about. Let's say I'm with the 'monkey' [laughs]. What do you think of this idea that you have to be like a white shark, that if it stops swimming it dies? How funny you mention the white shark: it is one of my favorite animals and one of my obsessions is diving with one of them or seeing him in a cage. Precisely, I am learning to wait for projects to arrive that contribute to me, that make me grow and that 'put me'. In other words, quality takes precedence over quantity. It is true that I am particularly a 'junkie' of my work and if I am not with a project in hand I get anxious and want to bring new characters to life. But in this profession I think you have to know how to choose, when you can. So, indeed, I don't feel the real need to be a white shark that can't stop swimming to "be inside". Is seclusion harder on people your age? Well now that you mention it, the truth is that I'm fed up and I've been thinking the same thing for days. Without detracting from the needs of other age groups, I believe that it is true that young people are at a vital moment in which we need to relate and in which our level of concerns is very high. All this generates anguishing anxiety. I can only send people my age a lot of encouragement and think that everything happens, that this will end and we can return to our lives. How does it feel to see that your dance with 'reggaeton' on Instagram has become a meme? My dance On Instagram it was a diversion born from the boredom of quarantine to which I do not give any importance. The same that I give to everything that has arisen around it. Of course, the massive response has undoubtedly been positive and I always appreciate and appreciate the love I receive. What is it like to survive on Instagram? It is very dangerous for instagram, for example, to take too important a place in your life. At the end of the day, I think social media represents a very small percentage of each person's real life, at least in my case, and I think that's the way it should be. Because ... what a horror if we had to capture every area of our private life and show our entire personality on a social network. The problem comes when what is being seen in a profile is interpreted as the absolute and real life of that person. For me, instagram is where I give a space to the aesthetic and visual, a showcase of a small part of me and I also take the opportunity to promote my work. But what I am and my instagram are two different things. What is beauty for you? For me beauty, in any of its forms, is a channel of expression. In other words, I see beauty beyond the purely aesthetic. Beauty can be in a look, in a voice, in an attitude towards life ... Beauty as a visual impression, by itself, does not generate much interest. I think that when he has courage and awakens something in others it is because behind the face there is a story that the eyes of the beholder perceive. Of course, I will not deny that I like to take care of my image and feel beautiful, but it is something personal with myself; For me it is not a goal to cause any effect on others. And what is it like to see that your physique is continuously analyzed? It strikes me that at this point there are still people who create themselves with the right to judge, for example, a physicist like if, because he was a public figure, he had the obligation to be liked by everyone. No one is born to satisfy the tastes and demands of others. But it is something I know I have to live with and I do not give it more importance. Is his political ideas silent? On the occasions when I have wanted to speak out about something, the fear of being lynched has not prevented me '. But I do try, every time I want to defend an idea, to do it positively; that is to say, promoting the cause that I defend instead of focusing on the opposition that there is against it. I have to say that there are times that I have decided to bite my tongue regarding certain ideologies, but precisely so as not to give them the attention or publicity they seek with their hoaxes and statements promoting hate and discrimination. How will we remember this 'hole' in the future? Our way? I think it will be a cruel bump, (regarding all the lives lost and the financial consequences) that we will try to overcome and push aside as soon as possible. It has probably made us realize many things and value others that we previously took for granted. What I am not so sure about is that we are going to learn something in the long term. Why do we need interpreters? From the beginning of history, the human being has needed both to transmit and listen to stories that help them understand the world that surrounds you and see beyond yourself. Actresses and actors are a tool, the visible face in charge of giving life to the phrases and feelings of the story that is told. How do you see the feminist discourse? Beyond the discourse, I see feminism itself and space that gives us women to support us and understand what our true place in the world is and not what we have been led to believe it was throughout history. What is the role of art, culture, in this world ? I do not live art as a protection mechanism, I do believe that it can make us travel to other realities escaping from ours. But also sometimes he is in charge of shaping us and putting us face to face with those same realities that make us feel uncomfortable. The important thing for me about art is that it generates emotions that make me think, feel and place me in different places from those I already know. What if in the 'new normal' sex is dangerous? Shall we hit each other with clubs? Well look, I think that if now, because of this, we change our customs and stop fucking, it has gotten out of hand. The goat throws into the bush and I don't want to live in fear. So, as soon as possible, I plan to continue hugging and kissing as I did before. We have gotten worse: the plague, famines, wars ...
