The forces of the Libyan National Accord government announced today, Sunday, that they took control of new sites and secured them in the vicinity of "Hamza Camp", south of the capital, Tripoli.

This came in a statement posted on Facebook by the Military Information Office for the "volcano anger" operation, which is affiliated with the Al-Wefaq government.

The statement pointed out that the control of the new sites came after an attack on Sunday morning, accompanied by heavy artillery strikes, which destroyed an observatory and targeted the gathering of personnel and mechanisms for the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Hifter.

He pointed out that a group of individuals and vehicles had also been targeted in several neighborhoods south of the capital, while heavy artillery directed "consecutive and precise strikes" on the site of Haftar forces near the Souk al-Ahad Bridge south of Tripoli.

Earlier on Sunday, Al-Wefaq government forces announced targeting an ammunition depot and a gathering of Haftar forces, in Wadi Al-Rabi`, south of Tripoli.

Since April 4, 2019, Haftar's forces, backed by regional and European countries, have stalled attacks to take control of the capital, Tripoli.

Although he agreed to a humanitarian truce to confront the Corona pandemic, Haftar continued his attack, forcing the forces of the Al-Wefaq government to launch a military operation in the name of the "Peace Storm", which subsequently took control of several cities in the West Coast.
