New York authorities have opened an investigation into a burial institution after police found dozens of decomposing bodies piled in trucks, amid more tragic stories in the city revealed by the outbreak of the Corona virus.

New York is the city most affected by Corona in the world, with over 17,000 deaths recorded.

The city also witnessed many sad stories, with multiple testimonies from the directors of burial establishments, as well as the presence of refrigerated trucks throughout the city in order to help address the issue of the accumulation of dead bodies.

Last Wednesday, sixty bodies were found in trucks in front of the Andrew Kleckley Foundation, located on a major street in Brooklyn.

A spokesman for the New York Police said that the police were informed of bystanders who smelled unpleasant, and the police realized the scale of the disaster upon its arrival.

"We are investigating this burial institution," said health services director Howard Zucker, and noted that this institution has not had any complaints in the past.

For his part, New York Mayor Bill de Palacio described the situation as "horrific" and "totally unacceptable."

He said, "The burial establishments are private companies, and they must treat people with dignity, and I do not know how they could allow such an order to happen."

In a related context, New York State Governor Andrew Como announced Thursday that the subway will stop its night service so that trains can be cleared every night during an outbreak of the Corona Virus pandemic.

"This will be one of the most difficult, creative and challenging tasks," Como said. "This is a wonderful thing we have never done."

He added that the transportation authority has already "stepped up" its efforts by cleaning trains every three days, and is now taking an "unprecedented" step to disinfect it every 24 hours.

This policy will go into effect next Wednesday, with the subway network suspended between 1 and 5 am each night.

Up to now, the United States has recorded one million and 75 thousand cases of the emerging coronavirus, while the deaths from the virus have reached about 63 thousand.

New York is the epicenter of the outbreak in the United States.
