  In February 2019, Huawei initiated negotiations with the US operator Verizon and provided Verizon with more than 230 patents and factual evidence of its use of Huawei patents. After unsuccessful negotiations, Huawei sued Verizon in the Eastern and Western District Courts of Texas, requesting the court to find that Verizon infringed 12 patents authorized by Huawei in the United States, and asked Verizon for its patents. Infringements compensate Huawei.

  It is understood that Huawei has more than 80,000 patents worldwide, including more than 10,000 patents authorized by the United States. The Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office) stated that Huawei actively defended its rights and interests and safeguarded the rules of fair competition in the global market economy, which in fact demonstrated the achievements and value of Chinese companies in intellectual property and innovation.

Both parties agreed to resolve 44 cases worldwide As a result of litigation disputes, the injunction orders made by the US courts against the first instance judgments of the two cases therefore lapsed. The Guangdong Provincial Market Supervision Administration (Intellectual Property Office) stated that the proper handling of the two cases effectively promoted the development of cooperation between Chinese and foreign high-tech enterprises in the world of communications.
