EU cooperation did not work well enough at the beginning of the crisis, Stefan Löfven says, highlighting, for example, how individual countries made early decisions to close borders without coordinating it with other EU countries.

- Obviously, it didn't work well enough. We also needed a faster response to get stock, Löfven said.

Since then, the prime minister has become better and cited the transport of medical protection equipment in the EU as an example of an operation that worked well.

Löfven was asked if he felt that the cooperation difficulties were still evident during Thursday's meeting between EU heads of state and government.

"No, I don't think so," he said, continuing:

- It's not that it works perfectly, we see that we still have shortcomings, but we also see that we have a common ambition and everyone wants this to work.
