The Director General of the Department of Economic Development, Dr. Abdul-Rahman Al-Shayeb Al-Naqbi, said that the department directed the commercial centers not to allow any person to enter the centers and sales outlets without wearing masks and gloves, and if a person wanted to enter by force, the police will be informed to take legal measures against him in accordance with the decisions of the Attorney General of the state.

He explained that entering centers and sales outlets without masks and gloves exposes the person in violation of legal accountability, and the department directed commercial centers in Ras Al Khaimah based on an assessment of the situation and its communication with the National Crisis and Disaster Authority, to open restaurants and allow them to work in the delivery service outside the centers.

Al-Naqbi added that the department allowed the restaurants in the commercial centers to operate without there being seating at the tables for customers in the restaurants corner, in order to reduce the spread of the Corona virus.

He pointed out that the department is studying in coordination with the competent authorities to open commercial centers during the next two days, and a decision will be issued in coordination with the owners of commercial centers in Ras Al Khaimah after taking all precautionary measures to ensure the safety of community members.

He stated that the department works to reduce the risks of the spread of the Corona virus until it opens markets and commercial centers, as the matter requires patience and full commitment by the public, noting that citizens and residents must adhere to the instructions to limit the spread of the virus, because this is in their health interest .

Al-Naqbi stated that the commercial centers were instructed to wear masks and gloves for workers and shoppers and refused to enter any person without masks and gloves. The department also allowed a telecommunications company and an exchange company to work in the centers within the conditions and precautions.

Regarding the rise in prices, Al-Naqbi explained that in the event of any exaggerated prices, consumers must inform the department, as it undertakes the deployment of inspection teams to ensure that prices are raised through verification of purchase invoices. He explained that there is no reason for consumers to purchase large quantities of products, as all crowds happen before the time of movement restriction, and that consumers should go to buy during the morning hours to avoid crowding.

He pointed out that in the event that shoppers do not comply with the instructions, the centers should inform the police to deal with the issue, as the department is keen on the health and safety of community members and reducing the risks of the Corona virus.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Naqbi:

Citizens and residents must adhere to the instructions to limit the spread of the virus.
