Many bus drivers worry about the contagion risk they believe it means that travelers walk on the bus through the front door. And they have received the support of the municipal union - the safety representatives took the matter all the way to the Swedish Work Environment Authority to make a decision that the front door of all the buses should be closed.

The Swedish Work Environment Authority agreed with the union and sent out a guidance notification to the Scanian bus companies that this was happening. The agency's lawyers wrote that they wanted closed doors as of Friday.

All preparations were initiated at both Skånetrafiken within Region Skåne and the bus companies. It is not least about informing travelers.

But formally, the Swedish Work Environment Authority is required to take the last step - make a decision on closing the door. Late on Thursday afternoon, a decision had not yet been made and, according to the Swedish Work Environment Authority's press officers, it is probably not clear during the day.

In that case, this means that the measure to close the front doors will not take effect on Friday.
