The commission obligated those wishing to go to fish markets during the period of precautionary measures taken by the state to limit the spread of the new Corona virus, to implement 10 preventive measures, the most important of which is not to touch fish and products, to maintain a distance of at least 1.5 meters between shoppers, and to adhere to the directions and guidelines of market management and cooperation with her.

In detail, the authority has defined 10 preventive measures to safely market people inside fish markets in Abu Dhabi, within a circular recently issued, regarding the regulation of installations in the fish markets in the emirate, in line with government measures and efforts to prevent the new Corona virus (Covid-19) and prevent It spread.

The procedures consisted of the shopper’s commitment to the market entry period (9 - 12:30 am) and from (3.30 - 7:30 pm). And do not touch fish and products. And keep a distance of not less than 1.5 meters between each shopper and another. And adhere to the number allowed at every bench. And adhere to the guidelines and guidelines of market management and cooperation with them. Shopper wearing masks and hand gloves. And make sure to sterilize hands when entering and exiting the market. And the shopping trip duration shall not exceed 15 minutes. And stay away from overcrowding and crowds. Finally, the obligation to follow the instructional boards and to stand on the points and marks set on the ground.

The authority affirmed its keenness to provide a healthy and safe environment for consumers, by continuing its efforts to strengthen the precautionary measures aimed at achieving the highest levels of health and safety for the community, in coordination and cooperation with the General Command of the Abu Dhabi Police, the Department of Municipalities and Transport and its affiliated bodies, and the Abu Dhabi Fishermen Cooperative Society.

She indicated that she is seeking, through these regulatory and preventive measures, to reduce congestion in all fish markets in Abu Dhabi, and to maintain social divergence, to raise the health level of its employees and users, in addition to organizing its work in these exceptional circumstances to ensure the continuity of providing its services to the public safely And true.

She stated that the precautionary measures determined the absorptive capacity of each market by setting a maximum number of its users, according to the number of "shoals" in it, at a rate of one consumer per two shelters, indicating that the market containing 30 shelters, would allow entry to no more than 15 consumers at the same time. One, at a maximum, provided that the shopping trip does not exceed 15 minutes for purchase and exit from the market, and then allow another group to enter, in addition to confirming the necessity of adhering to safety and preventive measures during the delivery of home and commercial establishments requests, and providing an appropriate mechanism to reserve purchase dates and enter the market to avoid congestion In the waiting area.

With regard to fish auctions, the Commission pointed out that it is permissible to organize auctions from 6:30 to 9 in the morning, while prohibiting collective auctions, to be limited only to individual methods, in addition to isolating the auction area in a location far from consumers, so that only the presence of fish merchants is allowed And the seller and auctioneer, taking into account the commitment of those in the preventive procedures, in terms of safe spacing (not less than 2.5 meters) between people, wearing masks and wearing gloves.

Intensive precautionary measures

The Abu Dhabi Authority for Agriculture and Food Safety stressed the necessity of the commitment of fish market departments to implement intensive precautionary measures, such as tightening control over the entry and exit gates of the market, in coordination with the police patrols, to prevent random entry of consumers, and to prevent the entry of people who do not wear masks, while providing devices to measure temperatures For visitors, preventing entry to any visitor with a temperature greater than 37.5 degrees, providing gloves for visitors before entry, as well as putting sterilization materials at the entrance and exit gate, and obliging visitors to sterilize upon entry and exit.
