Some civil servants who continue their public service mission despite the confinement, will receive a bonus up to 1,000 euros, announced Wednesday the Minister of Public Accounts Gérald Darmanin. “This bonus was decided by the President of the Republic (…). This premium will be tax exempt (…) up to 1,000 euros, this is provided for in the amending finance bill, ”said the Minister on Europe 1, adding that this will represent for the State Civil Service“ a little more 300 million euros ”.

One in five state civil servants should receive the bonus, or 400,000 people, the ministry of public accounts told AFP. "They do an extremely important job and they show that the state is present and protects the weakest," greeted Gérald Darmanin. For the rest of the public service, the Minister of Health Olivier Véran must disclose the details of the premiums that will be granted to health personnel.

"For the territorial public service, we will leave the possibility to the mayors to pay, if they wish, and I know that many wish it, this bonus" to their agents, added Gérald Darmanin.
