Healthcare practitioners in San Diego carry laminated photos of themselves where they smile outside their protective clothing so that they can receive the patients with a smile even though they have a mask that many may think is scary and impersonal.
-When patients come they are scared and now when we wear masks they do not see our smiles. By having a large photograph outside the protective clothing, they can see my smile behind the mask and understand that I care about them.
