An evangelical gathering in Mulhouse

On Saturday, 4,841 people were hospitalized in the Grand Est, 58 fewer than the previous day, including 881 in intensive care, or eight less in 24 hours. The Region also had 2,008 deaths in hospital, 56 more than on Friday. The departments most affected are the Haut-Rhin, one of the main centers of the epidemic since an evangelical gathering in February in Mulhouse, the Moselle and the Bas-Rhin.

According to the ARS, "4,581 people were able to leave the hospital, their state of health having been considered reassuring", ie 136 more than on Friday. Since the beginning of April, the hospitals of the Grand Est, which have seen more than 250 patients transferred to other regions in France or abroad in order to relieve their saturated resuscitation services, observe a stabilization of the people treated, even a decrease.

697 deaths in nursing homes

The figure of 2,008 deaths does not take into account deaths linked to Covid-19 in accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (Ehpad) and medico-social establishments. According to a report published Thursday, 697 elderly people have died in these establishments in the Grand Est since the start of the epidemic, including 402 in the Haut-Rhin.
