Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe drew angry criticism from some Twitter users, after he posted a video showing him sitting on a sofa with his dog, sipping tea and reading, accompanied the video with a message that appealed to people to stay in their homes.

"Who do you think you are?" Among the most frequently reported on Twitter, users say that the message of Abe ignored the suffering of those struggling to make a living during the Corona virus pandemic.

The clip, published by the Japanese prime minister, was a response to the famous musician Jin Hoshino, who posted a clip of himself singing about dancing at home, calling on people to join him.

"At a time when people struggle to survive, and with a clip on such luxury presented, one cannot help but wonder: Who do you think you are?" Wrote a Twitter user.

But other users of the site defended Abe, saying the prime minister also had the right to have time without work.

This was the first weekend in the country since the emergency was declared in major population centers to combat the spread of the virus.

According to the Japanese Broadcasting Corporation, the number of Corona virus cases in the country exceeded 7,000.

She added that the state of emergency will include the city of Sapporo on the northern island of Hokkaido, starting next Tuesday, and will order local authorities there to close schools in the city and some surrounding areas.

The authority stated that the state of emergency in Sapporo is expected to continue until May 6, and that other public facilities will be closed, and residents will be required to remain in their homes for all unnecessary work.
