The UAE provided medical, health and in-kind assistance to 16 countries, within the framework of the initiatives implemented by the state with leadership directions to help combat the outbreak of the new Corona virus, as it reached out to many parts of the world including cooperation with the World Health Organization, in addition to providing a number of countries, Among them are China, Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Seychelles, with the necessary medical supplies, relief items and necessities, and all forms of support to overcome this crisis.

Sultan Al Shamsi, the assistant foreign minister for international development affairs, said, "The UAE has provided assistance to 16 countries, with a volume of about 200 tons, benefiting 100,000 doctors and doctors around the world."

Al-Shamsi stressed in a statement broadcast by the “Science of the House” program that “the state has not wavered in providing support and assistance, especially for the countries affected by the spread of the Corona virus, as it included in-kind assistance and the necessary medical and health supplies during this phase,” noting that “the aim of the assistance is to enable Medical personnel and hospitals in countries with weak health personnel, to support them in the face of the Corona virus. ”

Last week, the UAE sent an aid plane carrying 10 tons of various medical and preventive supplies to Italy, which will benefit about 10 thousand medical workers.

The initiative comes within the framework of the UAE's cooperation with countries that witness the outbreak of the new Corona virus, and in order to enhance global efforts to limit its spread.

The UAE’s ambassador to Italy, Omar Obaid Al Shamsi, said that since its establishment, the UAE has committed to the approach of giving to countries and peoples in distress and crises, and the crisis of the new Corona Virus confirmed the stability and effectiveness of this approach, and this was reflected in the efforts undertaken in a number of countries where the epidemic has spread, Which reflects the originality of the humanitarian approach in Emirati politics, which has always stood as a leadership and a people alongside nations and peoples in difficult times.

He added that this assistance comes within the framework of the initiatives undertaken by the UAE under the guidance of the leadership to help combat the outbreak of the new Corona virus, as it reached a helping hand in many parts of the world that included cooperation with the World Health Organization, in addition to providing a number of countries, including China And Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Seychelles, with the necessary medical supplies, relief materials and necessities, and all forms of support to overcome this crisis.

Finally, the UAE sent two aid planes, one to Colombia, and another to Kazakhstan, benefiting tens of thousands of medical workers in the two countries, where it sent an aid plane carrying 10 tons of various medical and preventive supplies to Colombia, benefiting about 10 thousand of Medical personnel, to support it in the face of the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19).

"This assistance will enable medical personnel to fulfill their duty to combat the spread of the virus in the country," said State Ambassador to Colombia Salem Salem Rashid Al Owais, stressing that the UAE and its leadership stand by the people of Colombia and all the peoples of the world to overcome this humanitarian crisis.

The other plane arrived in Kazakhstan loaded with 13 tons of various medical and preventive supplies, benefiting about 10 thousand medical workers, to support it in the face of the emerging corona virus (Covid 19).

In mid-March, the UAE sent two aid planes carrying medical supplies and relief equipment to Iran, to support them in the face of the emerging Corona virus.

The two planes carried more than 32 tons of supplies, including gloves, surgical masks and protective equipment.

On the third of last March, the Emirates sent a plane that carried 7.5 tons of medical supplies, in cooperation with the World Health Organization, and also carried with it five experts from the World Health Organization to help 15 thousand health care workers.
