Dubai Police revealed the increase in the number of calls it receives daily from the public to inquire through the emergency number 999 to reach about 27 thousand calls per day, compared to about 21 thousand calls before the beginning of the crisis of the spread of the Corona virus in the world.

She explained that she has precise procedures to protect detainees in police stations, including pre-entry examination, sterilization of places of detention at least twice a week, in addition to periodically measuring temperature and providing means of protection from masks, gloves and disinfectants for all inmates.

In detail, the director of Al Muraqqabat Police Center, Brigadier Ali Ghanem, said during a meeting with Dubai TV that Dubai police are taking strict measures to prevent centers, including Al Muraqqabat Center, especially places of detention to prevent the arrival of infection, as new inmates are examined well and made sure that the results of the tests are negative Before depositing the arrest, the current inmates are measured regularly and given gags and gloves, and the sterilization is made at least twice a week.

He added that there is a concrete commitment by members of the public, especially at the present time, everyone wears gags and gloves, pointing out that the degree of commitment was lower in the area of the center’s jurisdiction, but everyone responded to the instructions now, and there is great cooperation with police patrols that are deployed in the areas with High population density.

On the report of the reports and crimes recorded by the center in the last two months since the start of efforts to combat the spread of virus infection and the implementation of the national sterilization program, Ghanem stressed that the reports are almost non-existent in the center's jurisdiction, attributing this to the great commitment to restrict movement during sterilization operations.

For his part, the director of the Command and Control Center at the General Operations Department, Colonel Turki bin Faris, said that the Dubai Police is the first in the world to send awareness messages to the public via cars, pointing out that this is being implemented through Mercedes and BMW cars, and work is underway to expand this technology In the rest of the vehicles, pointing out that there is cooperation with the consulates in the country to benefit from them in delivering messages in different languages.

He added that the service is text messages for awareness and other alert messages in English that reach the car from the command and control center, and appear directly on the screens in these two types of vehicles, in order to meet the technical specifications in the management of the command and control center.

He revealed a significant increase in the number of calls received by the center through the emergency number 999 to reach 27 thousand calls per day, expressing his pride that the Dubai Police is the first refuge for the public, hoping that the public will call the number 901 dedicated to inquiries and services to relieve pressure on the emergency number assigned to urgent cases only .

He pointed out that the number of calls received by the Command and Control Center has increased significantly in recent years, as during 2017 he received three million calls, while the number reached five million and 400 thousand calls at the end of 2019, at a rate of nearly 20,000 calls per day.

He stated that the system of receiving calls by the command and control center is provided in several languages, and if a call is received in a specific language, it is transferred directly to the recipient of the call, which he is fluent in order to ensure the fastest response rate to emergency calls.
