"The same measures, which were taken for two weeks, will continue to be applied until Thursday, April 23," Madbouly told a press conference broadcast on state television.

On March 24, the government decided to impose a night curfew from seven in the evening to six in the morning for a period of two weeks, in an attempt to contain the spread of the virus. Likewise, the government's decision to suspend flights until April 15. Fines for violators amount to 4000 Egyptian pounds (about $ 250), and the penalty may reach prison.

Madbouly said in a conference yesterday: "It was agreed that the date for implementing the ban starts at eighth," to give sufficient time for citizens to return to their homes.

The Egyptian Football Association also decided, in a statement yesterday, "to extend the suspension of game activity, starting from April 15 for another 15 days, and the decision applies to all degrees of local competitions and all ages." The association has been suspending game activity against the backdrop of the new Corona, since March 15.

According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Health, Egypt records 1,450 cases of coronavirus, including 94 deaths, and 276 cases of recovery.

In this regard, Madbouly said, "There will be increases in (the number of) daily injuries over the next three weeks ... this is expected." He stressed that Egypt "is still within the safe borders to control this disease."

The government measures also stipulated that "starting from five o'clock in the evening until six in the morning the next day, all commercial and craft shops and commercial centers that we call malls and shops for providing services and selling goods be closed with full closure on Friday and Saturday". The decision excludes bakeries, grocery stores, and supermarkets outside malls and pharmacies.

This comes at a time when the Saudi Ministry of Health announced, yesterday, that the total number of new infections of Corona virus in the Kingdom increased to 2932 confirmed cases, an increase of 137 cases on the first recorded on Tuesday.
