At 20:23 on April 1, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred in Shiqu County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. After the earthquake, 34 field teams dispatched by the Sichuan Provincial Seismological Bureau successively entered the earthquake area to carry out the intensity assessment work, and continued to provide emergency command decision-making basis to the earthquake area government in real time.
With the coordinated support of governments at all levels in Ganzi Prefecture and Shiqu County, Dege County and Ganzi County, the Sichuan Earthquake Administration launched a field survey of 34 survey sites in 11 towns in 3 counties in Ganzi Prefecture, with reference to the tectonic background and source of the earthquake zone Scientific and technological support achievements such as mechanism solution and aftershock sequence distribution, combined with strong vibration observation records and the destruction of neighboring areas in Qinghai Province, determined the intensity distribution of the earthquake.
The highest intensity of the earthquake was Ⅶ degree (7 degrees). The major axis of the isoseismal line was north-west trending, the major axis was 80 kilometers, and the minor axis was 54 kilometers. It mainly involved Shiqu County, Dege County, Ganzi County of Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan Province And Dali County, Guoluo Prefecture, Qinghai Province, a total of 4 counties.
The area of Ⅶ degrees (7 degrees) is 360 square kilometers, mainly involving the two townships of Changxugongma Township and Changxuganma Township, Shiqu County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province.
The area of VI degree (6 degrees) is 3140 square kilometers, which mainly involves Changxugongma Township, Changxuganma Township, Wenbo Town, Changsha Ganma Township, Waxu Township, and Ari in Shiqu County, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province. 6 townships in Zha Township, 3 townships in Dajuan Township, Soba Township and Asu Township in Dege County, 1 township in Dade Township in Ganzi County; 1 township in Shanghongke Township, Dari County, Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, total 11 townships.
In addition, Niduo Town and other individual townships in Seda County outside the VI degree (6 degree) area were also affected, and sporadic houses were damaged. The 6-degree boundary line indicated by the dotted line in the intensity map is located in the unmanned area of the plateau, which is the estimated intensity line.
Ⅶ degree (7 degrees): a small number of soil (stone) wooden houses are destroyed and most are slightly damaged; a few brick and concrete houses are moderately damaged and most are basically intact; a few light steel structure houses are slightly damaged and most are basically intact.
