04 April 202016.50 Keir Starmer, 57, is the new leader of the British Labor Party and of the opposition to Johnson's Tory government. He beat the two rivals Rebecca LongBailey and Lisa Nandy. Former Chief Prosecutor of the Crown and MP since 2015, he takes the place of Corbyn, overwhelmed by the defeat in the December elections. Alongside Corbyn in the 5-year left turn of Labor, Starmer declares himself "socialist", but is considered more moderate than the former leader.
