On the national territory, hardly more than a third of the registered voters voted during the first turn of the legislative ones. In addition, we voted much less in the capital than in the interior of the country. In announcing the provisional results, the Malian Minister for Territorial Administration recognized that the voter turnout remains a " challenge for Malian democracy ".
Another lesson: seventeen deputies were elected in the first round. The ruling Rassemblement pour le Mali (RPM) party is already taking away eight seats, including four in the Kidal region (in the hands of the ex-rebels), with North Korean scores. The main opposition party, the Union for Democracy and the Republic (URD) won three seats. Among its elected officials in the first round, its leader Soumaïla Cissé, kidnapped last week shortly before the vote, by alleged jihadists.

The provisional results of the first round also confirm the breakthrough of certain parties on the ground in one or more localities. As for the presidential and allied majority, Asma, former Prime Minister Soumeylou Boubeye Maïga, Adéma, Paréna, or the UDD of Tiéman Hubert Coulibaly. On the opposition side, in addition to the URD, there are in particular the ADP-Mali (three deputies from the first party) and the Sadi of doctor Oumar Mariko, with already a deputy.
